Yeah my son had a scare, luckily he looked before he sat down;

Only it was a kingsnake and filled the toilet about as much.

He, the king snake, didn't like it when I used the barbeque tongs to take him outside and let him go.

A few years ago I had a 2 1/2 foot bull snake crawled into the control box of my A/C frying itself. Was not a pretty sight and fried my panel. The repair guy cleaned the mess out and direct wired around the circuit board. Gladly paid him. I could not have dealt with that for any amount of money.

He would have liked the "processing out" at my house even less ... I'm all for harmless snakes, but any snake that carries a gene that would encourage him to ambush me from a toilet NEEDS to be removed from the breeding population, quick fast and in a hurry ....

King snake?

I assumed Black Racer, but I'm no expert. But they're relatively common in the Pinelands here.

Just remembered...two of my glider club instructors went up together in a two seat trainer for their first flight of the season. Soon after release from the tow plane we noticed the glider flying rather erratically. Very unusual and we were quite concerned. The glider descended about as fast as a glider can, and before it even completely rolled to a stop the canopy opened and both were scrambling out yelling about a snake. Sounded like a good thing they weren't wearing chutes or the club would have lost a glider that day.

 Maybe it was one of those gliding snakes I have seen on the nature channel on TV.

Yeah , snakes and spiders are our friends , well unless you live in Australia , where apparently all of them are out to kill everything that moves  :shocked:

Speaking of Oz, my wife's late mother was fond of pouring boiling water on them. You might wonder how she managed to get close enough. I never wondered at all. I just never cared to find out for myself and when it comes to those things, I'm with Perazzimx14 #6 :thumb:

Snakes around here flatten out when they get run over.

I personally think I'd rather flatten a few SUV drivers.  If only to slow down the encroaching tide on my shack.

My last 2 dogs became the victims of neighbourhood Tiger snakes, being just a bit too cocky & (probably) slow to retreat after each bite.  By contrast cats are dynamite on snakes: they just stand back like a boxer & dole out a pretty awesome spanking to the poor reptile's head until it just gives up & slithers away.  Surprisingly, it's only Queens that seem to hate the snakes so much.  The Toms just aren't that fussed.  Apart from the odd jab and quick right/left hook combo, they'd rather just sleep among the daffodils.

 There's a variety of non venous snakes around here...I don't kill them , I see no reason to do so other than just to be cruel...

Back in college my other little brother (fraternity) had a 6' Python named Fluffy.

Sometimes we'd wait for one of the other brothers to hook up with a chick late at night, then quietly open his door just enough to let Fluffy in.

Hilarity always ensued.

In his mis-spent youth my bro-in-law went to Oz for a bit. Got accommodation in a flat with some blokes he didn't know. he also had a pet garter snake he called Virginia, who liked crawling into bed with him at night.  what he didn't know was that his flatmates had a side business in dealing drugs.  The popo did a raid at 2am, burst in to his bedroom locked and loaded, and ripped back the bedclothes.  Virginia got a fright and reared up, and he and the snake came close to being blasted.  Things got real tense.

After a few hours at the station discussing the philosophy of life to itself they finally believed he knew nothing.  Went home and moved out in very short order.
