Thank you, from a vet and to all vets. All of us gave some, some of us gave it all.
Local restaurant actively supports veterans groups and veterans benefit events. I'll go there this afternoon to hoist a couple brews and share a tale or two.

Although I feel our soldiers have been misused way to much of the time, it is no fault of the individual soldier. My appreciation to the individuals that make up our veterans and current soldiers. Sorry if considered political content.

November 9, 1918

Dear Mother,

It has been some time since I wrote my last letter, but we have been on the move for a week or so; consequently, I have been unable to write.  We traveled in box cars and we sure had a time of it.  We had twenty-one men in our car and talk about sleep; no chance.  We were packed in so tightly that when we laid down the shoulder of one mad rested on the shoulder of another man.

Quite a commotion in the room now a Frenchman came in yelling "Siar Finis" (War Finished).  I've heard so many of those rumors that I don't believe them anymore.  We are camped in a mud hole and raining all the time.  We saw a barrage laid down the night that was certainly the most wonderful sight I have ever seen.

Got this in the old inbox today.  I've known Bill going on thirty years now.  He's also a rider, and has done a bit of modeling in Vanson catalogs.  Be sure to take in the video along with the article.

Down the road comes a soldier
seventeen, maybe older
Beneath his tattered uniform
his wounded body tired and worn.
Empty stare, sunken eyes
beleaguered soul who pondered lies
that brought him here to spill his blood
through agony and gore and mud
 His innocence lay scattered here
across these fields where freedom dear
he'd purchased now with mortal sin
 Upon a politicians' whim
Sasquatch Jim        Humanoid, sort of.
