Yes.  I don't know if I have any photos of Rainy.  I should.  I think Rainy Mountain is one of those places in Oklahoma that has an importance far beyond what the casual driver might notice when driving by (if it's even noticed at all).

It would be a great place for campout if they allowed drinking in the campground. 

We did a Guzzi Lunch Meetup there a few years ago at  the Meers Store, famous for longhorn beef pie plate sized Meersburgers.  The road up to Mt Scott has been closed for the last few months, hopefully it will be reopened next year, the view and drive are pretty cool.

It would be great to do another Lunch Ride there next year.   

The wildlife refuge has been credited as saving extinction of the Buffalo and Longhorn cattle.  There's also an Elk herd there.

 The Wichita Mountains are sacred to the Kiowa , my ex was part Kiowa , we spent many a day and night camped on the North side of Rainy Mountain.

Thanks for the memories. I love the wildlife refuge and the ancient mountains. I think possibly the oldest in the U.S. Spent many hours cruising thru the area on my 1966 Triumph 500 while stationed at Ft. Sill back in the day.  Medicine Park was a strange place back then with old stores and eclectic architecture. No idea of what it looks like now. BTW I highly recommend for riders to check out the Old Fort Sill and it's artillery museum. It's a worthy destination and open to the public as far as I know. I got to go back for a visit.

Medicine Park looks much the same.  There are still several houses with inlaid rocks.
