Cam Followers - Le Mans 1000

I'm rebuilding the top end of my Le Mans 1000 and need to replace the cam followers. The old one are pitted and at the end of their life.

Does anyone have any experience with aftermarket followers? I've heard good reports on the ones from Stucci but not so good reports on the Stein Dinse followers. I'll spend the extra for genuine ones if need be.

And yes the cam needs to come out too, it's pitted.

Are the follower surfaces concave or convex? How many miles on the engine?

wow, that bore looks damaged as well, maybe something else happened, and the mating surface on your block looks porous, I've never sen that before. I have seen pitted followers but not a cam.

Cam can be reground and lifters refaced by Delta Camshaft in Tacoma, WA.

Looks like an opportunity to put in a hotter cam!  Of course then you'll need some heavier valve springs...aaaaand chromolly push rods, and head flow work..

LOL  That was my idea also.  But ive been a hot rodder most of my life. :)  Heck I got a hotter cam grind for a old single cyl garden tractor I rebuilt years ago. :)

over the years i have had very good service and tech info from Mega Cycle Cams. all on Brit push-rod Triples

Mike I'm sorry I can't offer anything in response to your question however I hope you will document this work on your you tube channel.
The series on k lining the valve guides, setting spring heights etc is excellent 👍

 Another +1 here for Mega Cycle cams , they wisely put lube holes on the cams to add additional oil for the followers to ride on . Get their
Norris SS grind copy , had it for over 150,000 km .
