Guzzi content: Mission accomplished, 30 deg, no problem.
« on: February 12, 2020, 01:49:33 PM »
I am one of the proud owners here of the 1400 tourer,  2015. That said,  as we all know these bikes, from the factory lacks a lot that makes a touring bike just that, a long range, all seasonal motorcycle. This identity should include, adequate wind and weather protection, plenty of water proof storage as a basic requirement. My 1400 came new with a half @$$ windshield that the wind would beat you to death the first 25 miles, two bags that I had to assist with the sealing factor and not even a simple luggage rack, go figure 🤔
This being said this is not a guzzi bash, just some hard to deny facts as I love this motorcycle. I have owned several V twin large bikes, Honda, HD, kaws, BMW and a couple I choose to not admit😂  of all these, this 1400 is the smoothest, strongest, fastest and best handling of them all, in my experience and personal opinion.
Ok, now

to my project completion. To fix the main issue for me wind and rain protection I immediately added a decent windshield followed by a set of HD Crome lowers. Still some face wind and no feet and leg protection. Well today I fixed that last but not least issue. Near total wind and element protection and now maybe a perfect touring bike. Sorry for the post length, just bored I guess.

I guess we don’t have any 1400 tourer folks here interested in my wonderful invention. Maybe I can come up with an interesting post on cooking hamburgers  or something like that. 😂

Thanks photo👍  I was just funning about the lack of response, I realized there are just a few of us with these guzzi’s but most all my bike over the years have been full dress tourers and this bike just didn’t come with proper touring equipment, for my needs anyhow. I really like this motorcycle and wanted to get it comfortable for my use and I’ve accomplished that.

Take a side view shot of it outside. I'd like to see it that way. Looks beautiful!

I'm always in favor of a post where the owner addresses their personal wants and needs as opposed to the all too common post on other web sites about how the bike lacks "this or that".

Well done, sir.

Don't worry about 'lack of response' when you post a useful personal experience with a Guzzi. Folks like me may read it, think to ourselves 'Yep, just what happened to me!', and not have anything to add.

Keep posting, we're reading and enjoying....

Thanks Lannis, yea I was just funning around about the interest thing:) I knew that it would not be very interesting to anyone other than us 1400 owners and you are right most of the subjects I read here I enjoy but don’t respond👍
On the subject at hand, I realize our  beloved Moto guzzi brand is definitely not like any other make as the way they operate. That being said it does get a little old having to beg, borrow or steal the things we need and desire from other brands. Every thing I put on my 1400 tourer to get the wind and weather to an acceptable level was a challenge. I thought I’d share the accompaniments with the few guys here with 1400 tourers and to be honest, the second post was to just to get back on the top of the list so maybe it could be viewed by the 1400 owners with the same issues I had. Thanks for your response my friend 👍

Looking good Dan,even loaded touring motorcycles get changed by the owner. Think of your 1400 as a blank canvas that need your artistic touch, then go and ride the hell out of it.

Ride Safe.
