Trailer wiring from European to American
« on: April 01, 2020, 05:31:26 PM »
I got my cargo trailer for touring with a passenger, and I've got some questions. I -think- that I've got it figured out, but want to check with some of the more knowledgeable people in the community. So how does one go about wiring a European split system into an American flat 4 connector, and making it all work correctly?

Thanks. Specifically, though how does one go about wiring this into an old Guzzi?

That depends on how old and what model.  Tell us that and we'll find a color wiring diagram for you.
The wires that feed the little black box will include:  ground, running lamp, stop lamp, left blinker, right blinker.  You will need to find the source wires for each of these elements and then use a ScotchLok or similar wire tap device to tap into each wire.

Please don't use these things specifically, I'd call them s!@# beyond words but really they are not that good.

Sorry, forgot to mention that. It's a 74 Police Eldo. I have all of the wires identified for taillight, brake light, and turn signals. I'm just not 100% sure how to wire them into the flat 4 so that the two lights on my trailer function correctly as tail, brake, and turns.
