I love ya, bro, but you're a bit off center there.  Plenty have documented the stock V7 as delivered bucks the owner off the seat repeatedly no matter what the setting.  If THAT is what you mean-ok.  But changing the rear to remain fully planted and in control is not a "styling exercise" in any way, shape, or form.
In the frost heaved roads on the North East compliance at the rear of the motorcycle is a must.

Carry on.

To each his own then :thumb:  Just saying that's been my experience.  I'm sure someone would tell me the Agostini pipes I had on a couple of Guzzis was throwing a match in a pile of money   But it sure didn't sound that way to me

i too have invested in suspension parts.  i have never had a bike that i could not ride with the stock suspension, but found the improvements brought about to take the ride from acceptable to a real pleasure.  bmw's were easy to do because of the front "paralever" suspension.  with that, you did not have to pull springs from the forks, just changed one spring/shock unit.  they took bikes that must have been sprung for 240 pounders and jolted on every bump to smooth riders with much more controlled handling.  well worth the money in my personal opinion.
btw, the 2 guzzis i have had have come with factory suspensions that have worked well for me.
