No forgiveness required...the HD Sporty's are very capable little bikes.  Lots of dealers, parts, and after-market accessories everywhere....and the new Harley's are extremely reliable and road worthy.

Over the years, I have >150,000+ miles on four (4) Big Twin Harley's (two Road Kings and two Electra-Glide Sports) - no issues other than normal comsumables -  tires, batteries, and one faulty stator.

CONGRATS and good luck with your new ride!  You will enjoy it!! :thumb:

So i traded in my beloved Guzzi v7 ii. 39800 plus miles. I found myself in a weird spot. No Guzzi dealer really wanted to deal with me due my higher mileage.

Well i had dealership offer me a really good deal. Too good to pass up. But alas not a Guzzi.

First, big congrats on an absolutely awesome and stunning bike.

Second,     a dealer gave you a great trade in allowance on a Guzzi????   Who is this dealer?  I have a wonderful piece of property I'm trying to sell and I think he's just the guy.

If you have to have a V twin going the wrong way, how about ducati, Aprilia, KTM. But if you cant work on your own bike, I can see having a dealer around the corner.

I Had to do a double take on what they offered. Honestly couldn't have sold it for what i got. Love the sportster. Took the deal and ran before they could change their mind. I think they wanted to move this bike as its primarily a honda dealership. Thanks fellas i will be lurking around.

Rebochi you wouldn't really ride around doing a 100 mph being the source of people thinking and saying things about bikers that ain't nice would you.  :undecided:
................... .........

The two Sportsters I had ran along at 10 over the speed limit just  fine , up hill or down .   I had a 680 mile day going to bike week the first year I had one and really enjoyed the first 600 of them !

Just a question for you guys with experience with the Sportster. Can the 1200 models be triple digit a day mile munchers if set up properly for touring?

Absolutely.  883's, too.
