I got my SP1000 last year for $1,500 (not running) in abot the saem condition as the red on with about $350 worth of new brake components, tires and misc stuff. Within 10 minutes of getting it home it was running on one cylinder then once the points gap was properly set it was firing on both cylinders.

Got it all sorted out put about 20 hours of labor into it mounted the new tires on it and after tryign for months it sold for $1,800.00.

$1,500 or $2,500 for eithe of theose rojects is IMHO grossly over priced. I wouldn't offer anymore than $800 for either.

Between prices being soft in general for many old bikes before adding new uncertainty re: disposable income for many, the new normal is likely going to be a lot different.     There used to be lots of cheap bikes that you owned simply because you enjoyed them, not because they made big (or any) profits.

Maybe those days aren't all gone after all...

Up & running, they're good long distance mounts for one person sport touring.
From the Deep Deep South out in left field.  There are no stupid questions.  There are however stupid people asking questions.  🤣, this includes me.  😉 Hawaii.
