Would we expect to see greater excitement of the ionosphere for HF radio propagation if the magnetosphere is greatly reduced?
We are so low in the sun cycle now that a little more electromagnetic activity would be nice.
A little excitation of the F layer would be good for HF DX, a lot of excitation would improve VHF ducting and HF NVIS, too much would be too absorbtive for any radio wave penetration.
I just wonder how much rf energy our semiconductors can handle. Might be time to shield our electronic ignitions or make sure we have points ignitions on standby for apocalyptic Toilet Paper runs.
