So, let’s say that you are a most definitely a dedicated  Moto guzzi owner and rider who loves these bikes. Let’s say this guy has decided that he wants a Moto guzzi that was manufactured before the bikes were controlled by ECU  fuel injection, sensor controlled motorcycles. Let’s go one step further and say however transistorized ignition was preferred over points. What would be the best choice of Moto guzzi bike.
Please this is a serious question and I would like to see responses from folks who has been there and done that.

That pretty much narrows you down to the 1991-1997 timeframe.

All the Guzzis I've owned in that time range were great motorcycles and easy to live with.

Here are some of the models from that time:

LeMans MkV
1000S
SPIII
California III
California 1100 carb
Sport 1100 carb

Don't forget the G5.. my choice.. or the impossible to find T5. T3 gives you disc brakes. A disc brake Eldo would be nice

they are getting pricey. The G5 gives you good ride, good brakes, stone hammer simple. (your criteria) Cheap. (Guzzi content)

Thanks Roy. I spoke to the owner today. The bike has 47k miles and some tank damage where he dropped it on concrete floor while off the bike, no dent just scratches. I can by the bike for 2500.00. It has both 30 and 40 liter bags and Shawnee, maybe spelled wrong, fairing.

Dan, this one maybe a good choice. Definitely does not have a throttle demand sensor.
