Need advice on this one.

My V85 has done 11,000 k and fair to say, the single compound rear tyre is looking pretty square.
However here’s the thing..
Just lately there have been a few occasions where a strange situation has manifested. When cruising at general road speeds, occasionally you’ll feel a VERY slight reduction in power and just as suddenly a return to normal, the whole event taking about 5 seconds.
Corresponding to the power drop is a feeling like you’re losing “half a cylinder”, very similar to losing one pot in a four, but not enough performance loss to suggest a dead cylinder.
My Son suggested something that I’d like to enquire about.
Could it be the system re calibrating to the reducing diameter of the rear tyre ? It really is very squared off, I have new ones ready to fit.
Would the TC be “thinking” that the rear is spinning up and applying anti spin measures ?
I have not gotten around to performing a re calibration yet, but will do so when back on the road.
Interested to hear informed input..

My Skoda Octavia does something similar on occasion

I always thought that it was a little glitch where the ECU tripped itself up with the fuelling somehow,  I never though of it being TC related

Sorry Moto, I’m useless at electronic wizardry and only use this abbreviation because I know others will understand.
Please don’t get the impression that I’m a go to for enlightenment..

Huzo, I don’t know about your Lorries down on your end of the planet, but the new ones we have up here have sensors on every wheel. They all must be relatively close in tire wear or it throws the whole stability control system out of whack and the system turns itself off and an idiot light comes on. Some enterprising drivers tried to run a speed reducer on one of the sensors that they could easily reach. They thought they could fool the sensor and get around the 65 mph (102ish?) speed governor. Nope. The stability system just turned on the error light and basically ignored that sensor and read the speed off the other 5 wheels. The mechanics had a good laugh!
 This new tech is really something.

The trucks I drive are mostly Kenworths and the odd Iveco.
I don’t know if there is an active TC system or not, but I do know you can break traction in the wet under the right circumstances.
There are on 34 wheels a B double combination and I don’t think they have a dedicated anti lock mechanism either.

Try putting it in "Off Road" mode where TC is disabled.  Does it still do it?

That’s a reasonable diagnostic technique Cam.
In all likelihood I’ll just do a recalibration with the new Michelin 5’s and bugger off.
