BREVA 750 THROTTLE BODY SYNCH
« on: May 31, 2020, 02:06:54 PM »
My Breva is a little ragged off of idle so thinking it my need the throttle bodies balanced.  Is anyone aware of a write up or you tube video on the procedure.   Any special equipment required besides a good vacuum gauge?  Thanks, Tim

The "Files" section on Moto-Guzzi-750@groups.io has a Breva 750 How to Throotle Body Synchronisation. Pretty straight forward & complete. Referred to it just yesterday (doing a Cali Classic). Other than the gauges, you'll need a 10mm open end & a couple of screwdrivers, a Phillips for the manifold screws & a flat blade for the air bypass. I find it useful to hook up Guzzidiag to get accurate temperature & rpm readings, and to reset the TPS & auto learning. A throttle lock (like that cheapest Go-Cruise one) helps to keep the revs at 3,000 without strain.

In the event that the tubing on your gauges is getting old & splitting (like mine), some silicone tubing on hand is useful, especially at the hot ends. With your gauge, you should have a pair of the adapters to screw into the inlet manifolds - 6mm, with washers.

OK, I got there and managed with great difficulty to get the file to open up.   Tried to do it a second time with no luck.   It appears to be a word file and I don't have office.    Anyone know of another location for this info?
Thanks, Tim

Who uses ms office by choice? Nobody with any sense of style or elegance. Alternatives abound. I'm thinking that you must have a pretty exotic system tpif it is unable to handle such a legacy format transparently. What system are you running? What programs, apps, utilities do you usually use? It's not much use us recommending something if what you have can't read it. Note that Libre Office is free, is available for most desktop platforms, and reads & writes a plethora of formats. On the other hand, if you got to see it once, something you have on your system is able to handle it.

Windows 10 on a laptop,  I am a techno weenie at best.  The time I got it to open I used an unlicensed version of word that wouldn't let me print or save it.   I can open almost every other file on the 750 website except this one.

Ah-ha. I think you'll find it's a Win 10/MS thing - doc files automatically associate themselves with programs that MS wants to sell. Associations can be changed. I find Libre Office works well (& is free). There's likely many other free ones out there. If you've an "Open With ..." option in there, that should do it without changing associations. I find Win 10 more than somewhat awkward to navigate around. Odd that this file is the only one not behaving itself. I'd try downloading it & converting it to a pdf. Easy on my desktop, awkward on the tablet, but I'll see if I can't do it.
