So sorry again Dave. I was so impressed when you told me about how long you'd been taking care of your lovely wife. Not a lot of men like that around.

Dave, just wondering how you are doing?
I know we never “get over losing a loved one”, why would we want to? That is where the memories reside.

God speed to you brother.

Jack, thanks for your thoughts and concern.   I am getting by pretty well.   The primary responsibility and focus of most of my adult life is now completed.  I am thinking through what will be the focus of the next phase of my life.  I only asked that I be able to see it through to the end, and never let myself contemplate what I would do afterwards.  I have another year of work ahead (I am considered essential in an essential industry).  When I am fully retired I am not sure yet what will be in store for me, but I certainly do not plan on wasting the time I have left.  One thing I do know is that some good long motorcycle rides will be part of it.

I still miss her very much, and will cherish memories of her everyday of my life . I will always be proud that she chose my shoulder to lean on..

Thanks, Dave.  I’ve come to believe that we are not human beings that strive to be spiritual but we are spirit beings that are experiencing human life and we will go back to a spiritual existence after this life is over.  Best regards, John

After 5 months Gayle's stone is finally in place.  It came from a quarry in Georgia.   We all feel better that the grave is no longer unmarked.

Before Gayle passed I was resistant to make my final arrangements like most of us I presume.  Now it is a comfort to know that my exit is planned out and when I stand next to her grave under that ground is where I will ll be  one day.  It doesn't bother me a bit now, and actually provides  comfort.

Wow.  This is so tough.  Thank you for sharing it.  Reminds me of how sad but wonderful life can/will be.  It also made me want to hug and kiss my wife when she gets home today.  Thoughts and prayers with you.

Dave - I just stumbled onto this thread a few minutes ago; I had no idea that this was part of your recent history.  Let me add my feelings of sadness at your loss.  It must be of some comfort, however, that so many in the Guzzi family have taken the time to reach out with a comment or two of support for you.

May she rest in peace. Please accept my condolences...
The fact that you were all these long years by her side speaks volumes of your qualities as a human being and as a real man.
