Hard not to make the list with so many bikes listed. And more than a few of them are plain ugly, like plumbing nightmares in the basement. Maybe they look better in person.

I like the 701 version and reckon it looks pretty bloody good in white!
They are rapidly gaining a cult following too, I believe .
Would be a bit of a hoot especially with a decent pipe on it.

In my experience #1 is the be all to end all. Over quite a few years I had 3 SV650S's. One needed a body kit after getting rear ended. 137K miles.
It was 3 months old w/~5K miles. #2 Another 100K miles, sold, still running. No major service needed. The last one is still marching on, having no problems @ 80K?. Many, many C2C and other trips. I would usually do 2 Bun Burner Golds on cross country rides, each way. Love that V twin engine and all else, about them. All had upgraded suspension, frt & rear, a Chip, full exhaust, added lighting, Ventura tail rack. I need total reliability again; light weight, good handling & stopping. . . and cheap!  R3~

I don't do articles with the "next" feature.  They are just thrown together to generate revenue and no real thought goes into them.

The SV650 is but ugly to me with the radiator being the centerpiece of the bike.  At least Triumph attempted to blend the radiator into the aesthetics of the bike. 

Didn't get past the 1st page so can't give an opinion on the rest except to say that any "retro" bike with a huge exposed radiator is an eyesore to me.

Good humor is based on fact. I just can't learn to like these modern plumbing nightmares, either.

Began riding in the 1950's.  There is very little in this article that I can consider as "retro".

the copy seems to have been written by someone who knows nothing about motorcycles.  it is like they took the press kit and regurgitated it.

There are so few bikes that appeal to the eye and even fewer that are works of art. Sometimes I just sits and looks at my V7

There are some goofy, unlikely machines on that list. 

The list might be a little more legitimate if the bikes were ranked from most retro to least retro, by someone who actually knows something about bikes. 

That would put the Guzzi, the Royal Enfield 650, and the Kawasaki W800 at the top of the list.  Would anything liquid have to be somewhere behind anything air cooled?
