V7iii special vs stone

Any real differences? Can’t Find a tach to fit the stone. Are either tubeless tires? MG website doesn’t say.

Tubeless wheels on the Stone, no tach. Tube wheels on the Special, and you get a tach. Some variants have both but you're then looking beyond the two you ask about.

Special has spoked wheels (tube-type tires), Stone has cast wheels (tubeless). More chrome on the Special, along with the dual gauges. The Stone comes in basic matte colors, the Special gets the gloss treatment. Stone has fork gaiters. Special... whoah—no more fork guards?

The special has tubes but it's easy to make tubeless as mine has been for 6 months.
It has safety beads if you are worried about that.

You didn’t ask this question, but I’ll go ahead and pretend you did. :)

If price were the same, I’d 100% go for the Special. I have a Milano, which has a tach and cast wheels. I’d really miss the tach, and could more easily address the tire situation. Plus, some of the Special models are really beautiful. I’m especially partial to the blue one.

I really like the blue ones also.  I like shiny paint...  Some of the dull paints are nice...  but I feel its been over done, and time to move on..   Spoke vs Mag wheels?...  DOnt really care myself. But for me anyway, the special gets the nod for the tach and shiny paint.

I like a tachometer, but with the adjustable shift light I am OK not having it.

If I really want it I would spring for the multimedia option and show it on my phone along with all the other data to analyze after the ride.

In 2018, I chose a black Special.  Preferred the chrome exhaust,  wanted a tach, was okay with spokes, and I like the chrome grab bar around the back of the seat (good place to attach stuff I want to carry back there).  Oh, and I wanted the shiny paint.

As the entry level bike, there seem to be more Stones out there than Specials. So while the Stone is certainly a better blank canvas for personalization, the Special seems to be...more special!

For me? When it comes to the V7, I'll probably end up with a one-year only Stornello...though my V50 and Breva 750 are just fine!

that's because of the PREMIUM price they had on the special originally.
