I know we have a bunch of dog lovers on the board, and some that don't understand. What the heck, this made me laugh!

I took my buddy Max to do his FAVORITE thing. Play @ LOWE'S. He played fetch with two little customer girls and we walked 3 laps around the store off leash. We took the last few months off of training, but he's still got it!

With Guzzi content...
Of the 3 bikes Cooper has ridden on the Norge was by far his favorite.

Guarding the bikes.

I bought a BSA from a guy in the city, who had quite a bit of money and had restored an old mansion and carriage house in a "Transitional" neighborhood ... he was on the border between the already-restored old homes, and the still-to-be-fixed howling wilderness of decay, drugs, and crime, where all the old homes were still tenement slums.

He had converted the big old carriage house into a garage with a Maserati, an original AC Ace (unmodified into a Cobra, very rare), a Ferrari, an XKE Jag, and a selection of old collector motorcycles.  A million dollars worth of vehicles at even a conservative valuation, and not a block away from a neighborhood where if you left anything made out of metal outdoors, it would be gone the next morning.

There was a good security system on the building, but the MAIN security system was his dog.   The fiercest looking canine I think I've ever seen, a "Dogue du Bordeaux".   It was a well-trained guard dog, devoted to him but absolutely stand-offish with anyone else.    The dog went with him everywhere around the house and grounds and walked with him in the neighborhood, and at night it lived in the garage, which had a really nice bed and area for the dog.

I wouldn't have broke in there for a million bucks, and no one else ever has either!

Dogs do a lot for us.

Yeah, no way would I get close to one of those dogs unless I was invited by the owner.

I wouldn't get close to your buddy there unless the DOG invited me ... !   :angry:

Don't tell anyone but Boxer's are big mush balls. She will bark but throw in a dog treat and she will show you the keys to the bikes and the cars.

     I don't know if it's me becoming a wiser, better dog owner with time, or just the universe playing out the way it should; but I've had a few good dogs in my life and each one seems to be impossibly, just a wee bit better than the previous one. :rolleyes: :grin:

     This last rescue Shepherd that I adopted 18 mths ago, is right at the top of a list of very fine dogs;

     I've posted this photo of Sasha before, she's a little heavier and in better shape now from good food and exercise, she usually has a big black Kong close by.

     A real good country dog, plays hard and has a good killer instinct, between her and the Fishers,my chipmunk and squirrel population is on the decline, lol.

While most of our dogs have been adult "rescues" from the shelter or sled dog kennels, for the first time in almost twenty years, we got a puppy. He's been a real treat so far and has been responding well to our rigorous training...
