Interesting person.  I think i first met Pat at the '07 Minnesota (flood) rally and then had the opportunity to ride a bit with him while zoom-zoom and I were on the home stretch of a cross country trip a few years later.

RIP Pat!

Pat was a great guy. After we swapped bikes on a ride around a lake in Louisiana, he asked how I liked his bike, I said the suspension was shot. He was so use to the old suspension that he hardly noticed. I was able to source some new parts from a friend, sent them to Pat, and he was just amazed. What a great guy, I think I remember he was riding an older lemans. RIP PAT

Yeah, it's an 86. He wouldn't sell it, but *gave* it to my last apprentice Austin..
Austin is doing a full resto on it with white body work.

Pat once told me that he had read the Comptons encyclopedia cover to cover when he was a kid.

I quit riding about four years ago but occasionally visit this site to keep up with “old timer” friends. Received an email from Frank Smith about Pats passing. What a shock. As most have noted, Pat was a heck of a nice guy. Looked forward to seeing him at rallies.
I Was just thinking of calling him as I haven’t heard from him in a while. He was having balance issues we discussed during our last conversation. That’s what I get for waiting too long to visit.
R.I.P Mr Pat. You will be missed.
