Teo Lammers Moto Guzzi
« on: September 19, 2020, 09:06:44 PM »
When I lived and worked in Aachen, Germany, (2004-2005), I really regret never visiting this dealership in the Netherlands, right over the border....The Dutch are wildly passionate about all things Guzzi... :thumb:

Teo and his wife  now live in Victoria in Australia where he is building a beautiful 3 storied museum from recycled timbers for his  collection of around 400 guzzis, I purchased my Convert from Teo some time back and was lucky enough for him to give me  a guided tour through his barns where he was storing all the bikes. Talk about being  a kid in a candy shop, this was pre - so not sure if he has the museum up and running yet  He is a nice guy and I was happy with the Convert he acquired for me from Italy with only 20,000 km on the clock but I told him I would be just freshening up the bike and keeping it original but I lied and gave it a new paint job and some other small modifications  and haven't been brave enough yet to tell him that I destroyed an original bike.

Rest somewhat easy - I don't think that you can "destroy" an original bike with solvent, 800 grit sandpaper, and a paint gun.   Plasma cutter and TIG welder, maybe.    You can't worry too much about surface finish on a bike that you're going to ride!

'Course, that's just my opinion ... !

The shop is still going strong. I've had parts arrive from them in no time a few times now.

Teo Lamers were my first Guzzi dealer contact. Ordered an out side filter sump, .

My first contact, having wished for a Daytona since their intro, was mostly dumb luck on this website through an intermediary. An owner was looking for current (1995), value and didn't want to sell the bike.
It took nearly 5 years of b'day, anniversary & xmas cards to separate the owner from his '93 Daytona. The bike was on an airlift in what looked like a shrine, in his massive garage of cool stuff. 1147 miles in 7 yrs.   R3~

Over the past many yrs. I was oftentimes in western Europe. Visited TLM a few times and other MC shops. Even had a friend from business who had an LM 'waiting as needed'. Guzzi people are great.  R3~

When looking for a CARC unit a month ago USA wanted $4800 and from TLM it was less than half of that delivered. AND who is ripping who!!! Ended getting a nice used one from Mr Roper, plug & play. Something to ponder come trade in time, part it out!

They are true Guzzi people.  I recall they made some esoteric Guzzi stuff, like a combination deep sump/oil cooler for the small block, and other stuff you didn't see elsewhere.  Interesting.  Too bad it's across the ocean for me.

About 8ks south of Yea on the Melbourne rd, Bobic . I can get the name of the rd when I get home tomorrow. Not sure what the situation is with TLM. He may have sold the business but it retains the name.

He was  at the last years Tattley Rappet rally in Motueka.  He was organising a trip to Mandello for the 100 years centenary but of course with -, that ain't going to happen.
