I really can see who you (or anyone), would.. Are they shaft driven.
No beak + decent front guard = 👍👍
The in-crate photos remind me of showing up at Grisoni Racing, a Honda dealer in Landquart, Switzerland, the night before the scheduled pick up of a rental AT in 1998. Much to my surprise the owner of the dealership was uncrating two brand new bikes for my friend and I to rent. We picked them up the next morning, asking about the first service... the owner’s answer was “don’t worry, it’s a Honda”. So that morning we headed off for Davos, across the pass.Six thousand kilometers later on an unlimited mileage rental I returned the Africa Twin, oil never changed. It didn’t matter in the end, another friend rented the bike in the fall and wrecked it. A short but thrilling life for the Honda, ‘we’ (the bike and I) went everywhere from Tuscany to the Assen GP in Holland to Marseilles and back to Switzerland. Good fun on an older version of the AT.
Wow! I know they’re dependable but I can't believe they wouldn’t have wanted to change the oil after “break in”. So did you buy a Honda?
No, alas back to a chain. Been awhile for me since I had chain and not shaft but I wanted the DCT so...trade offs.inditx
Nice! And, it's a Honda, so you know it isn't going to break. What model year is it?
You are in the same boat as me, I hadnt had a chain drive bike since 1983.In June i bought a new 900 tiger gt low, in August left on a 7 week 13,000km ride through Queensland and the Northern Territory, got back last week.I am over lubing chains, especialy when the bike doesnt have a centre stand, I was deinately over it by week 2.I did some reasearch and listened to the experiences of my riding partner and ordered a Tutoro chain oiler while i was at Yulara nt(Ayres rock). It was waiting for me when I got home.Took several hours of dismantling and cleaning out 13000 km of used chain lube,(mein gott that stuff is horrible and sticks worse than baby poo to a blanket) but after that it took less than an hour to fit the oiler after I worked out where I wanted it and where to run the oil line.Made in England, uses road vibration to activate, Ive done around 400 km on it and still dialing it in, but I'm impressed so far. Give it a look at,tuturochainoiler.co mNo financial interest, not a dealer, just a currently satisified customer.Enjoy the new bike Cheers
Thanks Pete, I will check that out. What type lube were you using and what type does the auto oiler take?inditx
