Black tank Special Sport in Japan.

 The 02 Special Sport I bought was the only all black tank most of us had heard of until I came across an ad for one at a dealer in Japan. Maybe they were a Japanese model and mine was shipped here by someone?

Doubt that. Probably just that Luigi thought that bike would look nice with that tank. Or it was the only tank on the shelf at the time so it matched good enough.

AF-1 brought in Europe paint sets for the V85TT.  That could be a possibility with your bike.
