Funny, BaT accepts a lot of pedestrian bikes like the  Honda Night Hawk that listed today. These will get a lot of positive comments, and get bid up quickly, but a rarity like Centauro isn’t get much love.

Just like when they were new....people either LOVED 'EM...or they completely HATED them!  The poor Centauro... :wink:

There was no in between....and the same for the Victory Vision!!! :thumb: :wink: :cool:

JJ,

What is your guesstimate?

Yep, $9000. Just two bidders at the end. Hard to say if this is a good buy, as these are hard to peg on pricing.

And to think I was willing to let mine go with all the accessories for 5500 before negotiations. I have to admit I'm glad I had no takers. Hopefully this week or next I'll finally get it back in the garage.

The two most recent bevel drive Ducatis on BaT didn’t bid anywhere near recent comparable sales prices, and as a result didn’t reach reserve.  Meanwhile BMW R100GSs are selling on BaT for $18K and Centauros for $9K.  It’s  a weird site for motorcycle sales, seemingly selling to people who can afford to pay over market but don’t know much about motorcycles.

Crazy price, the ad didnt mention if the oil pump was addressed or what sort of fueling mods were performed?  Dont you need a Will Creedon chip or some other sort of aftermarket wizardry to make these things ridable? (I honestly dont know)

It just needs the chip which is an easy install and Will is still selling the chip; just need to go to the COG site and he will respond in a day or two. Some day I need to change the oil pump on my Daytona but I'm going to go with the chains and a V11 oil pump.

Yes, and in my experience, over the last 5 years and 10,000+ miles, you should install:

* Will Creedon chip
* Joe Caruso "steel" timing / oil pump gears (replacing the stock brittle aluminum ones, which were prone to crack...and then, the engine goes "POOF!"  :shocked: :rolleyes: :wink:)
* Replace the cam belts as required
* Replace electronic (solenoid) fuel petcock with a manual one
* Hyperlite tail lights / LED high performance headlight bulb
* Normal routine maintenance, oil / filter / battery / fair filter / fuel filter / ork seals / etc. etc. etc.

Brass temperature sensor holder and eliminate the colostomy bag with a (Stucci or other) crossover.   Perfect.
