2015 Zero SR with about 2500 miles. I'm absolutely in love with it.

The Russian judge is reserving a score on the top box, lol  but everyone else is in agreement, that bike has very nice flowing sexy lines, and it's in the faster color  :thumb:

I've read lots of good things about those bikes, will be very interested to hear your opinion after you get some miles on it, it must feel like a kid's bmx bike after your last ride.

Be very careful if it's turned on and other riders come up to check it out; There have been a few accident reports with riders coming over to check out the new Ebikes, apparently it's a "thing" that some will instinctually grab the throttle grip and twist it to hear what it sounds like, causing an instant torque reaction and take off.

Wishing you many safe miles on the new ride

Cool.  Specs?  Weight, range, time to charge, torque, 1/4 mile time?

And why do the bags look like they're on backwards?  :)

Congrats.  I never even considered one of those on the used market because of the rapidly changing technology, but I would imagine the depreciation is huge and you got it for a great price.

I considered a new one around that time frame, and then I found out that my state doesn't give any of the rebates the other states do for going electric.  I can't bring myself to pay more for something than someone else pays so I passed.

Fortnine has an interesting video on electric bikes and those Zero bikes can be challenging in the wrong hands because they are deceptively quiet.

I love it.  I wish they all were a little more “Guzzi cheap”  and I’d likely have one in the garage.

Some quick specs:
415lbs
67hp
106 ft-lb torque
Fully adjustable Showa all around

It does indeed feel like a kids bmx bike compared to the Stelvio, but then again almost every other bike I get on feels comically tiny to me. I rode a Street Triple last year, and felt like I was on a Huffy from my youth.

I recently moved back into the city proper, where my round trip daily commute has gone from 77 highway/city miles to 18 city miles. This thing was made for this new commute I think.

What's crazier than the lack of noise is the total lack of vibration. It's just smooth in every way imaginable.

I never really considered a used one either, mostly because I hardly ever see used ones for sale. I'm not one to talk about money usually, but I'll say that I got it for $7600. It does have over a grand in accessories (bags, windshield) that are creature comforts I always put on my bikes, so there's lots of value in them for me. I think the bags look a bit ugly on this bike, but I'm ok with it. It's been 5-6 years since this bike came out, and they've only been able to increase the battery to 14.4kwh from the 12.5kwh that this one has. This year's version is $1595 before any accessories, so I feel ok with the price.

CONGRATS!!  Looks cool!  Light and nimble!!!

What is the RANGE before you have to plug it back in for a full charge?

I haven't gone through a full charge yet, but looks like I should get about 130mi range riding in the city, maybe a bit less depending on how many short bursts of highway speed I do here and there. It takes about 8-9hrs for a full charge on a regular 110 outlet.

The onboard charger can output 1300w to the battery, so that's the charging limitation. There are external extra chargers, or even Zero's own ChargeTank level 2 charger available, but I just don't see myself needing them. I will probably buy an adapter for the unused dryer outlet in my garage (switched to gas), some can plug it in there, and draw fewer amps while it charges. It won't change the time, but I figure fewer amps makes less heat all along the way (the zero can take 110/220).

Think you done well at that price. Beats the hell out 30k for a Livewire. I agree that would be about perfect for city commuting and almost no maintenance to boot. What's not like. Zero appears to be leading the pack at this time.

I test rode one 2 or 3 years ago, and was prepared to say, "Meh."  I loved it. What's not to like with a Lario sized bike with better suspension and brakes and over 100 foot pounds of torque.. instantly available? I thought I would miss operating an IC engine.. and maybe I would, eventually, but I sure didn't on that hour ride.
The only down side besides price (Guzzi content)  was I couldn't have ridden it home. I was 350 miles away. For a commuter, it would be really hard to beat, though.

I'm pretty ignorant on electric motorcycles/vehicles ... for that 8-9 hr charge, electrically, is that like having a lamp on 8-9 hrs, or like running a microwave for 8-9 hrs, or a TV, or dryer, etc?

Also, another thing I don't understand, say you charge it fully but then don't get a chance to ride it for say 2 weeks, what would the charge be then?  Like 98%?  Or 90%?

OK, one more, for the newest models, have they updated the motor and batteries?  If you wanted a new battery pack for the bike, about how much would that be?

Congrats on the 'new' bike.  :thumb:
Did you get any warranty on the batteries?

Also, be extra careful out there... Friend of mine said after riding one 'Anyone who doesn't believe loud pipes save lives should ride a Zero for a day'

With the way I ride an electric makes all kinds of sense. My back has a shorter range than the battery and I don't do long trips anymore.

My problem with them is the price point for new and distrust of buying used. Also not sure of Northeast dealer coverage - I have yet to see a Zero or other e-motorcycle on the road around here.

My biggest concern with this one is the fact that it's out of warranty. However, the guys at AF1 are seriously top notch. They sold this bike new to it's original owner who used it as an around the neighborhood bike, and then sold it for him on consignment because of a move. I definitely wouldn't have even considered it if I wasn't just give miles from AF1.

Something that made me like it even more today: ran to the store real quick today in the 90 degree sun and decided to take the Zero. Sitting at red lights in the heat was so much more bearable without an engine hearing me up even more!

I was ready to buy a new Zero SR/S but the local dealer completely and utterly failed. Lost that sale.

That said, the SR is a very fun bike. I rode several SR variants and the handling and acceleration are fantastic. I hope you enjoy yours!

I saw an article the other day that announced the Zero is "partnering" with Polaris in some way. The story didn't go into much detail but it sounds like we could start seeing Zero's in a lot of Indian / Polaris dealerships. Sounds like a potentially beneficial relationship for both companies, particularly for Zero. There's an Indian / Triumph dealer 35 miles from me....

Say 9 hours at 1300 Watts thats only 11.7 KWH, we pay 11.2 cents per KWH thats only $1.31 Canadian, got to love that
How does the insurance and any other tax compare say to a Guzzi V7?

The article I read had to do with making electric drivetrains for off-road vehicles.

You might recall that Victory had an EV bike that at the time was probably equivalent to today's Livewire pricing.
