Coming to you via my new Pi 400 (Raspberry). Still trying to figure it all out!! So far the only issue has been how to slow the mouse down; guess I should count my blessings!!

Congrats.

We have used Raspberry PI for many purposes at work because of their small footprint.

My brother in law uses one for all his gray internet usage from Kodi to peer to peer sharing.  Of course he also uses WPNs to hide is location.

Awesome! I've been thinking about picking one up, too. I have had a pi3 for a couple years, but have only used it for playing old video games. Keep us posted on how it goes!

The mouse looks rather old fashioned, and has a wire.. I don't get it, you have to plug in to a power outlet and another wire to the monitor?
What can it do that an iPad can't?

Probably, not much. However, it's not tied to either the MS or Apple ecosystems, and the fact that this portable computer exists for $100 is pretty amazing. This little $100 device can play 4k video.

Got the mouse speed figured out but cannot change the size; it is tiny and guess it will stay that way.
So far all the cords (3) are a bit off putting but can live with it. Am unsure if I will load other operating systems or not at this point. One thing is sure, for $100 (the kit) this is a very capable bit of hardware!!

I have been using a $99 Intel stick computer for over 5 years including this message. Other than having a LAN port, which are available as miniature peripherals, what advantage do Raspberrys have over that?

but you do need to buy a 4K TV or monitor, right?

I guess not using MS or Apple OS has its advantages..

Getting too far off Moto Guzzi or even motorycle topics makes me wonder. It doesn't really bother me, but it is of some note that there are so many NGC and non-motorcycle threads here. If the WildGuzzi overlords were to restrict it, the amount of traffic may dwindle and the actual MG content may suffer in the long run. Who knows?
Some lurkers out there may want to post some more Guzzi content to even up the score.

I think the big draws are that it's not beholden to any one operating system, and that the raspberry pi computer itself can be had for only $30. The pi is for diy cheapskates, but I think we're unlikely to have many of those around these parts.

My new toy: Seeeduino XIAO

That's a USB-C cable for size reference.  Running a Cortex M0 in about 20mm x 15mm space, Ardinuo supported.

Well, "No Guzzi Content" posts are specifically allowed by the List Rules and by the fact that there's a "No Guzzi Content" icon that is available for tagging threads that aren't about Guzzis.

This thread should really have had one, since a "New Toy" might have been a new Guzzi and you can waste time clicking on it to find out it's a geekfest thing instead.

If you count 'em up, though, the "No Guzzi Content" threads are not a large percentage of total threads, and most of them are well marked in the title or with the icon.    So I don't find myself wasting a lot of time on things that don't interest me.

I agree there sure are a lot of NGC posts, electric cars, booze, computers etc.

It has reduced my interest in this site, for sure. Hard to pick thru and find guzzi content....

Given the fact that most of the rock and roll artists are a few years older than us, it won't be long before 2/3 of the list is "R.I.P Trevor Headbanger" or whoever, as thousands of them, from the Robert Plants of the world to the drummer for "Asia" 1987 - 89 pass on ... !!

jcctx, I take it back.   When I looked a minute ago, 8 out of the 10 latest threads have nothing to do with Guzzis, nor motorcycles at all as a matter of fact.

Just an observation.
