I finally went to Rock City and Ruby Falls, and was actually pleasantly surprised.  The signs worked in reverse for me and made me have no desire to visit so it took 30 years to finally get around to it because visiters wanted to go.

That's probably what would happen to me.   Overseas visitors want to ride to see some really kitschy and corny Americana that I've never bothered with, I guide them down to see it, and am glad I did.   It's happened before.
