For those interested in such things. Taken at the Easter Broadford meeting 2 or 3 years ago.

Thanks for the pics, Phil.   It's great to see some different views, especially without the fairing. Amazing machine,

Yes true. It had ignition troubles and I don't actually know if they ever got it running totally right over the weekend. 8 sets of points to set and time. Someone mentioned it needed spares which were back in Italy. I thought "that would be right" the Italians ship a bike half way across the world for a one off appearance and don't bring spares.
I might be wrong though and doing them a disservice. Someone may have better info.

I shouldn't cast stones.  It would be my luck to have the ignition fully sorted at home to then bring spares for some other challenged system that worked fine once I arrived.

Bringing the full inventory of spares for a display/parade event (?) doesn't always make sense, especially if it's not an income situation.  It's a lot easier to be invited to display at exclusive venues than it is to be fully compensated to do so.

The thing is you would also need someone with technical understanding to actually install said spares and tune the beast, that may be beyond the capabilities of most tech's.  DonG

I somehow doubt that the factory sent this bike out free of charge. I think Leo Tamers paid the freight for it to come out with Italian support. Maybe it was something else but I've seen all sorts of people (including big names) show up at racers from all around the world without even some of the most basic spares and then be facing a real challenge even getting on the race track for the sake of something costing pennies that would literally fit in your pocket and was a known consumable.
Not much fun on the other side of the world having to scrounge around the pits for something silly to get on the track that costs nothing to ship.

Agreed. My point about income swings both ways.  Contracting a feature goes both ways.  Event promoters may only spend enough to get the feature there without spending extra to bring all the spares & expertise along with it.
