Considering a Tilting Trike..Opinions

Hello Folks, I have had a conventional Gold wing trike with 2 wheels in the rear for 13 years. It is my wifes preferred 2 up pillion ride. I have my trike up for sale, and am thinking of getting a 2015 Gold wing with one of these TMW front end conversions with "tilt lock". My eldorado or griso are still my preferred solo rides( Guzzi content), but when its time to take momma out, only a Wing will do, but it sure would be nice to lean, and carve the corners!.... What are  the groups opinion of these?

I took a very long ride on a Heritage Softail with the tilting motorworks front end. 

It was a blast to ride and got questioned at every stop light. 

I purposely hit manhole covers with one front wheel to see if it would upset the bike, but it transferred the jolt evenly across the front end.  It did not pull on the bars at all.

The one I rode did not have the hydraulic option that holds the bike upright at stop lights so you still have to balance it, although much easier than two wheels.

They were willing to sell the bike and kit to me for the NADA value of the bike alone and I was very tempted.  If it would have had the hydraulic option I probably would have bit and put it up for resale while riding it. 

I pushed it hard in the curves and was very pleased with the performance.

The only slight negative, which probably won't be noticed if you are currently riding a trike is that the steering did feel a little heavier to transition from right to left in "S" curves.

I forgot to mention, the company Tilting Motor Works was recently sold by the original founders, to an electric vehicle making company. Just something for me to consider as the tilt conversion seems to all be proprietary components, even the wheels. May not be an issue, who knows?

No experience with that, but I did ride the Piaggio scooters with the two wheels up front that tilted.  They RAILED thru turns.

That's dam cool! I don't want one and the front end is kind of ugly but outstanding emngineering.

Have you looked at a Niken?     https://www.yamahamotorsports.com/sport-touring/models/niken  One of the guys on another forum
has one and loves it! I think it has an 850cc motor. Not my cup of tea.

I liked the concept GM had back about '82 with their trike, the Lean Machine. The front leaned like a bike with the rear 2 wheels staying
vertical.

The Nikken is cool, but not  very comfortable for what I want it for, which is 2 up pillion riding, with SWMBO.

I have always been fascinated by these three-wheelers from PIAGGIO.  These are from Euro Cycle in Las Vegas. 







There was a guy from Kingman, AZ, (name? AZ-Dave?), that used to ride one to the NM Guzzi Rally in Datil every year.  He said it was very comfortable and easy to ride.  Never been on one...but would like to try someday.

Those conversions from Tilting-Motor-Works are also very interesting....
