Unlike Piaggio
« on: May 19, 2021, 08:58:55 PM »
I have a 2011 Norge 8V and a 2015 Nissan Altima 3.5 with the constant velocity transmission. The Altima CV is known for having problems and so is the early Guzzi 8V motors. At 12,000+ miles I had a claim filed on my Norge due to the flat tappets problem. One side showed wear, the other not and Piaggio would not give me any support even filed through Harpers.
In contrast my 2015 Altima transmission started showing all the classic problems after 60,000 miles. Nissan first did a trans service on my bill which helped for a few thousand miles but then went back to the old problems plus. Took it back in today and they ended up giving me a loner car and will be doing a complete rebuild of the transmission with no cost from me. Hmmm...I will probably be more loyal to Nissan than to Moto Guzzi in the future.

It is no consolation to say that "Nissan has far more resources than Piaggio" and I would feel no different than you.

I've loved them since they were Datsuns.  Don't want to work on them , and usually don't have to. I do get regular reminders that my warranty has expired  :whip2:
