Agostini rear sets on an sp?
« on: June 08, 2021, 04:44:55 PM »
I have an '83 SPNT. It's probably the sixth or seventh SP I've owned since my first in '84 (that's if you don't count the ones I've owned a couple of times). In fact this bike is one I recently bought back...it's an obsessive disorder of some sort I suspect. Anyway, I'm toying with the idea of installing Agostini rearsets. I had them on my '78 Le Mans back in the 90's and loved them. I'd like the pegs moved back on the SP but I'm not sure if the Ago's would be too far back. I'm in my 70's now not my 30's but still in pretty good shape. Anyone here running rearsets on an otherwise fairly stock SP???

Thanks,
Steve M

I am running LM1/2 on my SPNT and they work great. The Agostini rearsets are just a bit further back, but with the limited handlebar selection  for the SP and not clip-ons as on the  LM ? , maybe. If you already own a set why not try them. Hanging the lower mufflers from the '83 is something else to consider/ make brackets etc

Thanks Guzzista,

I've been trying to source some of the components you mention. I've advertised here and elsewhere to no avail. This would be my preferred approach.
Could you please post a picture or two of your bike? Or you could PM me if you prefer.

Thanks,
Steve M

I've fitted Agos to my T 3 based hybrid since last spring and love them,Tried LM's and found the difference between the T3 standard roadster and them rather minimal...certainly not enough to make it any more comfortable .I did cut the seat foam down quite a lot though as i have short legs and much prefer to be able to fully foot at least one on them. The Agos also look very much more factory for that era bike than any other aftermarket rearsets
