New toy (sketchy Guzzi content)
« on: August 08, 2021, 02:31:09 PM »

2013 Yamaha XT250. Guzzi content: I bought this from the guy who now owns Archangel's Stelvio. Now that he has the big bike, he no longer rides the tiddler. Archangel has had his XT250 for several months now, so I'll follow him around for the rest of the summer.

A couple of years ago, I tried to learn dirt riding on an XR350R, which was just too tall for me and probably far more bike than I could ever safely use. After an unusually nasty get-off I sold it. This will be a more modest attempt at trail riding.

Great score. I’ll bet it is great in the dirt. I’m a huge fan of KTM singles in the dirt but like pretty much every thumper I’ve ever seen.

Those are great bikes, light and plenty of power, should be tons of fun!

Archangel and I went out on the XT250s for a thirty-mile out-and-back to a small (dryish) reservoir at about 8100 feet elevation. About half of it steepish jeep trail with a lot of rocks and dried washes. Great fun, easy first outing.
