5 STAGES OF GRIFT
« on: October 02, 2021, 08:42:09 AM »
Hi all,                                                                                                                                     10-2-21

Recently I purchased a telescoping ladder from a company and never received it.  Long story short...it was a clever scam.  It eventually got resolved in my favor, but it took a lot of time and effort.  I'm sure that you've heard of the Five Stages of Grief...I've translated the concept to the Five Stages of Grift.

   1)  Ignorance - Initial unawareness that anything is wrong. :azn:
   2)  Disbelief/Rejection - No, this isn't happening, something else must be amiss.
   3)  Realization/shock - Holy _ _ _ _ !  This is happening!  :embarrassed:
   4)  Retaliation/retribution -  If the other party does not comply, I will (various threats, real or imagined).
   5)  Resignation - Whatever happens, so be it, life's too short.  At least it will make a good story at parties.  :boozing:

Be well, stay well,
DougG

OK...that's pretty sad... some loser company "grifting" people over a lousy telescopic ladder?!?

What's the world coming to?!...

That is why I use my credit card via paypal.  Two layers of protection.

Dispute the charges and all is good.  And remember, if the price is too good to be true, jump on it because you are getting a bargain!

Hi Twowheel,                                                                                               10-2-21

Yup, you couldn't be more right.   I got a full refund through PayPal from the seller.

Be well, stay well,

DougG

P.S.  This post was kind of Guzzi content.  I needed a telescoping ladder to get rid of my 25 footer to make room in my garage to store my Cali 1400 this winter.

Wow!  Your garage is 25 foot or longer?  Awesome!  How about ceiling hooks for the ladder?

Sounds like a good excuse to get a 1400. :thumb:
