New Moto Guzzi Door Mats Available Now
The last versions of the two stroke twins, which for a while were oil injected and latterly lost this feature (due to the oil inj pump becoming NLA) are apparently pretty darned durable, long lasting two strokes. PITA to pre-mix a road bike, though... They are not particularly high revving or high-powered for their 350cc's of displacement. The centre crankcase seal is an all metal labyrinth type, it it has a four speed trans, and the o ring (I think) chain is fully enclosed in tin-work. Though not modern, they're not a particularly bad or unreliable or bad fuel consumption bike. And, like Guzzi's, the design just persisted and persisted. There's a UK importer of new machines... Forgot the fellow's name, maybe a surname of Angel, David Angel?I've given some thought to trying to import one in good condition. Would have to be >15 years old though to be importable to Canada...I have this perverse love affair for two strokes... I would love to p*ss off the Greenies here in this town 🙂 with the blue exh smoke... (which, I might add, is certainly not excessive).
Actually, not a bad looking motorcycle, but no AUTO-OIL-INJECTION?!? Pre-mixing gas / oil for a road bike?!? WTF?!? One would think the Czechs would have copied the Japanese on that one...????Still...would be probably a fun 2nd bike to putt around town...and to the local pub!
Modern 2 stroke oils mix very readily with gasoline. Not like the old days when we had to shake the daylights out of the can to get it to mix. Put a bit of gas in the tank, add some oil, more gas, the rest of the oil and fill the rest of the tank. Good to go. I raced two stroke outboards until recently. My pit gas can was opaque clear plastic, it was amazing how quickly the two mixed.kk
...In the Moped world some of the gas caps turned upside down are the exact amount of two stroke oil you need for the gas tank you have...
This, too, really does corroborate the assertion that modern two stroke oils readily mix with gasoline...
