Enjoy!!

I have 60,000 miles on my 2009 Multistrada and it makes me smile every time I throw a leg over it. My mechanic already knows that when the motor and transmission finally give up the ghost, we will do a total rebuild - I couldn’t live without this bike!!

A few years ago, we drove to Albuquerque to pick up this classic ST2 for my buddy Mike.  He got a real smoking deal on it.
I have ridden this bike and it is very smooth and FAST! :thumb:     Thumbs up all around. :thumb:

Do they make a non-supersport version of that bike requiring them to put the 'supersport' decal on it?

I mean, one look and everyone knows it is a street legal race bike!  WOW!   :thumb:  Wish I had the eyesight to ride something like that.

The embarrassing part is it really isn't a superbike at all.  Unofficially it's a "touring sport bike".  It has the mild "eleven degree" engine in it.  So it "only" has 110HP rather than 150 in the V2 models.  The power range is 3-9k and redlines at 10, so it's not a firebreather at all.  In fact it was so pokey that I had to go down a tooth on the front sprocket, that woke the bike up.  Having written that, the bike is tested (not by me) to go from 0-100 mph 7.5 seconds (stock gearing).

Mine is set up for touring, with factory saddle bags, tank and tail bags, and 3/4 inch bar riders.  I don't have the heated grips though.   It's my most comfortable bike and best handling bike I ever ridden.  It's about 450lb gassed, easy to ride and balanced, most comfortable OEM seat I've ridden.  Gets about 43mpg and uses a quart of oil over 4-5k miles.

Those things have about 200hp.  V4 16 valve desmo, 32 adjustments.

Except for the fact that it revs higher, has a quicker throttle response, is 150 lbs lighter, has quicker handling, has less range, is a different color, looks different, sounds different, feels different, rides different, and in no way resembles my V85TT, my Ducati Scramber and my Moto Guzzi V85 TT are exactly the same. Except that one -- I don't remember which -- has a TFT display

So I just read something in a thread on ADV that surprised me.

Maybe I missed it in this thread.

But someone with an Duc Scrambler said the FACTORY had moved the belt service interval to 60 months.

Can anyone confirm from their OM / SM ?

Copy that, thank you.

Guess my decision to go that long before the factory said it was cool wasn't a bad call...  :thumb:

I don't think it's a particularly recent thing. Maybe 5 years ago or so?

I hope not.

At least on my bike (11 degree engine) it's 18k miles or 5 years.  18k is the desmo service.

I can't imagine the 2v air cooled bike would be less.

Ciao

Well we've had it something like what 11 years so when we decided to follow that interval that was about 6 years before the OEM changed it?

But yeah I obviously haven't been keeping up with what changed since so thank you guys!
