Why did you post this if you’re not the seller?

I took it that he was asking if it was a good deal for himself to buy.

There’s no way to answer a”what’s it worth” question without information about the bike.  Is a two-valve Griso worth $3000?  If it’s in good shape with low miles, yes.  If it was in a flooded garage during Hurricane Ida, no.

I have the answer to your question.
The answer is "that depends." There  -  nothing more for you to worry about.

Orange.  From your list of bikes, you have a great deal of experience and plenty of money to spend on bikes. You don't really need our opinions.  So,  I suggest you buy it. Worse case, you lose a little money.  Best case is it just needs some TLC and you have a fun, cheap bike.

None of us here would ever even entertain the thought of "buying it out from under you", Orange. Us here on Wildguzzi are very respectful, and considerate of our Guzzi family, here on the forum. The Guzzi world is a very small one, it it does not make any sense to "burn" one of the "Guzzi family".

I have no problem ,discussing openly ,any bike I plan to buy, with the guys and gals here, with zero concern of ever getting screwed over.  But then again, thats just me. This is supposed to be a fun hobby, and it is...Mostly due to the quality of the people involved.

Will start but will not idle

Also sometimes hear a loud clank when hitting starter button without engine turning over

Where shall I start?

I love my 07 GRiSO...... My first Guzzi, and responsible for my conversion.  The Ergo's are not easy on my injury ridden body, but it is still one of my favorites. I can't take more than a couple hours on it, so it is my least ridden bike, but when I do ride it is pure love.

If I were in your fine Italian loafers, I would:

1. Do a full service.  Change all oils, new spark plugs, new air filter, check valve clearance, etc.
2. Probably change the spark plug caps.
3. If it has a Power Commander, pull that off.
4. Read fuel map from ECU, see what you have.  Stock?  Or a Beatle map already?  If not a Beatle map, I would buy that and load it into the ECU.
5. After new map loaded, go into Guzzidiag and do all the Griso stuff (can't remember, clear trims?, learn throttle position? (Or is that just a V7 thing?). Anyway, do the Griso needed items in guzzidiag.
5. Check voltage of battery.  If not wonderful, then replace the battery.
6. Change all the brake and clutch fluids and bleed them.
7. Check tires, wear and date codes, replace if needed
8. Acquire fine bourbon and cigars for post ride reflections

Also.
Remove forks and drain/refill.
Remove clutch/brake levers, clean grease pivot points.
Clean grease gear lever and rear brake lever pivots.
Clean/grease side and centre stand pivots.
Purge air filter box.
Check battery earth strap ground.
Grease rear brake caliper slide pins.
Check front disc bobbins for correct play.
Fuel tank cap drain tube clear.

That should get you close...

For me, the loud clank would point to a battery problem.

Perhaps start with connections, charge the battery, and go from there.
