Trick for reinstalling rocker arm pins
« on: July 02, 2025, 02:00:15 PM »
After retorquing head bolts on my Bassa i found an easy way to align the rocker arm washers and springs so the pin can be reinstalled. Maybe you know this, but:

1. For each rocker assembly, put the washers, spring and rocker arm in place but without the pin.
2. From the bottom of the rocker arm, insert a long screwdriver up through the center where the pin would go, and so it sticks out of the top.
3. Hold on to each end of the screwdriver and move it around in a circular motion so it pushes all these pieces in line with the holes in the casting that the pin fits into.
4. Slide in the pin.

Step 3 is the gist of this.
