I found a pair off a 2004 Stone Touring that work well. Sorry don’t have parts book in front of me.

I would spend a few hundred miles on the EV's OEM bars.  You might find they are fine.   I did not like the OEM 04 Stone Touring "pull back" bars.  I replaced them (and the bar mounts from a Jackal) with what I would call "Flat track bars".  About as high, but a lot less pull-back.  I also rode an '04 EV with OEM bars and they were better than I'd expected.

Note that if your EV has OEM "fat" bars, you will need Jackal bar risers (7/8") to allow you a wide range of choices in standard handlebar sizes.

I really like the bars on my 02 Stone metal. Pretty low rise, and feel like im riding a motorcycle and not using a garden tiller like a lot of the pull back stock bars. IMHO they could even be a bit lower, but I need a taller seat, so Ill wait till I do that before I make a change.

I didn’t like the “lean foreword” bars on my 02 Stone. using risers and shims I swapped out for 1400 tourer bars. I like sitting up straight as I’m accustomed to.

I traded my stock 03 EV bars with my Guzzi dealer ( Moto International) for a Stone  bar as in the MG Cycles link I posted above, and combined with a Corbinized factory seat it was love for about 60k miles of  commuting and trips. Seats and bars are highly subjective in terms of fit based on individual ergos, so only actual trials (and possible errors) will determine what works for  each rider.

Nice rig, congratulations, I have only seen one other in Silver.  Pretty.

As mentioned, I too would advise giving the stock bars a chance.  You may find that they are fine.

That stock airing however, I would wager that you will toss that for a better, less turbulence inducing unit.  To quote The Texas Turnip, Ken Hand... "That thing will suck the anvil out of your shirt pocket" Or something like that...

I did not care for the stock screen, give it a try and decide. We have owned two '04 EVTs, one bought new in '04 and the current.  Both received the Swanee Aerofoil and now, the H&H fairings.

The first EV Touring, new in '04...  rode that thing for 46K. A Great Guzzi.

The current '04 EVT, bought about five years ago.  Diggin' it still...

Hah on the anvil comment!
Nice bikes radguzzi!

I think the stock bars may work but am gonna try a Puig lip and I met the original owner and he had another windshield for it.

my very first screen was the Pacifico Aerofoil.  It was far and away the best bar mount I ever had and used it on several UJMs.  I wish I still had it.  Only the much heavier, larger frame mounted fairings on BMW's bettered it.

Sucking an anvil out of your pocket ?  Nah, a couple of 3 inch holes solves that issue.  I really like the OEM fairing despite some questionable reviews found on this site.  It works well for me, and I think it looks good.   I would, however,  consider a Swanee, but you can't find one these days !

I never considered switching the stock bars for anything else on my '04, fit me fine.. but that is personal preference I suppose.

Congrats on the EV !  Yours is a good looking one.

Thanks MGrego!

I thought about those holes as I have used that technique on other bikes and also used aircraft vents. (just in case I got caught in the rain)

I’m with you, can’t find a Swanee and am too cheap to buy a new Harpers, GC, anyway I put a Puig lip on it that really helped.

Anyhoo, I think I’ll try a couple of holes too.
Did you play with where exactly to put the holes?

I never thought of the handlebars on my ev as buckhorn. The buckhorns on my 1980 xs650 had a ton more  rise and pull back, at least half way down the gas tank, which created a weird wrist/hand position. First change was to replace them with some normal bars.

I have no problem with the oem wind screen. That fairing's look and all that superfluous chrome on the ev took a lot of getting used to. But as for effectiveness, I think guzzi got the screen right.

I went with the Stone bars too. I also added a Gustafson wind screen, I bought a 7" taller than stock one thinking I could shorten it if I didn't like it. I left it tall, its nice and calm behind it (I keep my anvil in my pocket). Its also very nice in the rain.

Try trail braking with your foot.  I call it "Guzzi Braking."  You just have to learn to keep your heel up on the nub without accidently putting pressure on the pedal.  One day you will realize just how fantastic the brakes are on that thing.

Thankfully mine came with this aftermarket brake pedal, I never could get used to the weird OEM "heel knob" brake thing.  (Just saw another thread from today "Improved brake pedal", discussing this very pedal)

Very nice bike, and it looks extremely well set up  :thumb:

Just to add to the echo, try the stock bars 1st for a while.

I don't like the upright seating/cruiser position, so I rolled the stock bars on my CalVin as far forward as prudent; it's not perfect, but very close; it adds just enough curve to my spine to make a big improvement in comfort.

With the disc brakes, one you get used to the nub, you'll wonder how you got along without it.

I changed out my stock "fat" bars to the stone "fat" style. I like my arm and hand position a little better. I did add Roxx risers to bring the bars back just a bit. Gives me more of an upright position that I prefer. Give the stock bars a shot for a month or two. Raise or lower them a bit and see if that is more comfy.

If you feel the stock screen is too short, Clearview Shields makes "tall" version in either clear or a very light smoke, love the smoke!!! I did need to trim it about 3/4" to get it exactly the height I wanted, just below nose level. If you know the EXACT height, they will trim it for you, at least they used to do that.

Enjoy,

When I bought my EV, I'd planned to delink the brakes, changeout the bars, changeout the foot controls and get rid of the floorboards.  After  the second ride on the bike, I changed my mind.  I found that it all works fine.  I "get it".  The brakes, comfort, handling and feel works just fine.  I like the nub on the brake, it gives more control, it gives the control of pegs with the comfort of having boards.   The boards force a heel shift, no way you can get your toe under it.  Both feet are equal heights with the left foot on the shifter and the right food on the nub.

It just all seemed to work when I rode it.  My advice is to ride and see for yourself before you decide to change stuff out.
