stucchi fork springs
« on: September 19, 2022, 11:38:01 PM »
for loop frame bikes.

well I gotta hit the hay but I did get the springs today and installed. (too late to go to the guzzi meetup in Dayton NV. thank you stucchi for lying to me 3 weeks in a row.)

from my hand pushing down on them both they feel the same but they're obviously a little longer. man getting the forks back up by myself was FUN. best to have two people do it. kinda hard holding the tubes up while getting the lower pinch bolt tight enough to hold it up.

definitely sitting higher now. feels a little stiffer or I just had no dampening before. I put 8oz of 50w oil in each side. I've heard 30w and I've also heard people putting gear oil in. all I had in straight weight was 50w so I'll try but pushing down on the front end it feels sooo much better than before. I greased the springs and tubes up before install.

lost the captive nut"bar" that is in the fork tube for the fender mount. made due with some nuts that I somehow lined up and got to tighten down. if anyone has one for sale please let me know.

Im busy after work tomorrow and the bike still has some stuff that needs to be put back on so I won't be able to ride it tonight or tomorrow. I'm assuming the springs are in the upper cups but can't be 100% because after the first attempt to pull the forks up they stayed tucked up on the lower triple tree.
