Rest In Peace Rich Armoto
« on: October 21, 2022, 08:02:56 PM »

I received this notice from a close friend of Rich's a couple of days ago...  I am sure some of you knew Rich from the board here. Such a nice guy.  I will miss him.

Respectfully,
Rob

Friends of Richard Arimoto,

As we believe many of you already know, Rich passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2022, due to a rare and aggressive form of throat cancer.

There will be a celebration of Rich’s life on Saturday, Oct. 29, with a service starting at 12:00 noon and lunch to follow.  The location for the celebration is the Lower Level dining area of the Presbyterian Santa Fe Medical Center hospital at 4801 Beckner Rd, Santa Fe, NM 87507.  We are holding the celebration at Presbyterian because Rich established the Pet Outreach program there.  It is only fitting that the finale of the memorial service will be a parade of Pet Outreach therapy dogs and their guardians.

We realize that it is unlikely that any of you will be attending the celebration because you all live several time zones away from Santa Fe.  Rather, we hope that you’ll think some good thoughts about Rich at 12:00 noon MST, Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022.

Thats sad news indeed. I have talked with Rich numerous times ,and he has always been a very fine, helpful gentleman.
RIP Rich.

Sorry to hear.  Spent a little time with him at the NM State rally.  He came down for dinner then left to go back home.  He spent some time at our house in Kona.  He liked the V11 Sport Rosso Mandello and not the Daytona RS.  We had to switch bikes for the ride back to the house.  Nice guy.  Never did make it to his place in Santa Fe.

I asked him why Santa Fe.  Starts out that his family was in Delaware with the Dad working for Dupont Chemical.  He was the only non-white in his school.  When he got old enough after college he ended up in NM.  Seems there were many challenges because his family was Japanese.
From the Deep Deep South out in left field.  There are no stupid questions.  There are however stupid people asking questions.  🤣, this includes me.  😉 Hawaii.

Thanks for that, Tom. Need I say it should never have happened? RIP, Rich..

Indeed, Rich was truly a renaissance man having been a very accomplished, learned person and finding time for his love of machines, Guzzis and dogs, his beloved Corgi as well as his involvement with the Humane Society Pet Outreach program.

He recently sent me an MG (MG car) plaque that he hand crafted.  We were both into MGs and chatted often about Guzzis and MGs.
The plaque will be prominently displayed in my favorite room.

Rest In Peace kind sir.
