V11 mileage

Is 25.000 miles considered a lot on the V11 engines from 2000s? considering they're regularly serviced (oils/filters/valve clearances)

I know on Harleys even 50.000 was acceptable - what's considered 'high mileage' for a V11?

on one hand very similar, on another it’s quite different, more primitive and visceral.



Should a never let mine go..

80K miles on mine.
I've had it since 30K miles.
Port exhaust valve started leaking at 80K.
Stem and guide worn a bit beyond specs.
Replaced both port head guides and both exhaust valves.
Lapped them in to seal.
Lapped both intake valves to seal.
Pulled cylinders and replaced rings as long as I had heads off.
Cylinder still showed cross hatch and rings sealing to 175#.
Just finished running all in.
I could have gotten away with just replacing the port side exhaust valve and lapping the seat.
I could have just ignored it all but the 30# loss on port side compression did make it run less smooth.
Looked at cam and lifters while in there. It was all PERFECT.
Rocker tips were worn through the case hardening.
I did replace rockers with a 7K mile set from eBay.
So for about $500 and a few days of pleasant labor I'm probably set for another 80K miles.

Well I don’t know if it helps you, but my Norge is a 2007, 2 VPC 1151 cc EFI motor and it’s done 130,000 miles (210,000 km) and it used a total of 600 ml of oil in it’s most recent 12,000 km ride.
Never had the heads off.

These are easily 100,000 mile engines.  Many other things will become issue before  the engine.  Drive splines, u-joints, clutches, seals, etc.  I have two 98EV's each over 100,000 miles and a 2006 Breva 11 at 85,000.  No engine related issues involved other than routine, expected maintenance.

They're both motorcycles made by Guzzi.  Otherwise they're pretty different.

The Norge feels a lot bigger and feels more top heavy.  It feels more like a touring bike.   

The V11 Lemans feels much smaller and lighter.  Feels more sporty. 

I have ridden V11 LeMans and Norge back to back on Monarch Pass in Colorado. 

Both are great machines.  They're just on different ends of the "sport-touring" segment.
