Hi alll,
There was a hot debate concerning V85T EURO 4 detonation issues in our local club. I learned there that an updated map has been made available for the E4 which addresses the issue, a guy who had it installed reported a noticceble difference with regard to detonation . This far such an update was only available for E5 versions. I have 2 qusestions:
1. Can someone confirm the official existence and nature of such an update?
2. If such an update indeed exists is it an "open loop" thing, i.e ignition is retarded in areas of load/rpm where detonation is suspected,
or is it based on active knock sensing(which in the case of the v8tt would mean the use of ION sensing using the ignition cable and together with the appropriate ecu logic since an audio knock sensor isn't installed to the best of my knowledge)
2022.01.22 update - An official ECU update for EURO 4 V85TT indeed exists, went to the dealership to change tires and had it installed along the way. Already rde around 700Km with new map. It's not in any way an accurate/scientific observation and I'm definitely no expert rider But noticed a slight difference for the better in the way the throttle behaves, which now seems a little smoother to me. As far as detonation is concerned didn't get the opportunity to ride it in the typical conditions where detonation occurs, But I already noticed that the annoying detonation just as you engage the clutch after a continuous idle in a trafic light is all but gone.
