Convert Forks too soft

Anybody have a magic fix for super soft forks on a 77 convert? Im pretty sure the fork seals have perished and there is precious little oil in them, this I will remedy. In my checkered past I seem to remember using a 1" piece of PVC pipe as a spacer to stiffen up tired old springs. Is this frowned upon? Is there a better, more acceptable solution for a bottoming out front end??

Get springs to match, don't be cheap, you'll be doing it over.

I just drained and refilled the original (18k mile) dampers on my '76 Convert. Easy, cheap and effective.

If it's done a lot of miles with a Windjammer or other heavy load on the front, then the springs could be sacked as well.

I went with FAC dampers and wirth springs on my 850T. I think it was worth it.
