LeMans 1 handlebars

Hello all
Wondering if anyone knows of a way to raise the bars a tad on my LeMans and move them back as well. I'm in my mid 70s and mother nature has made me a little less flexible (and a little shorter!)
We've been together for 45 years now and I can't imagine giving up on her now!

We changed them on a cx100 to an adjustable set ,sorry big don’t remember the brand.Cant believe you rode it like that so many years.

Be sure of the diameter of your fork tubes (35mm??).

They're really nicely made, and they moved the bars about an inch up and about 1.5 inches back in my case.

   I can relate to your desire to change handlebars. I'm 71 and recently installed the LSL handlebar conversion kit on my 2008 Triumph Sprint ST for the same reasons you mentioned. Glad I did. It will keep me on this bike a couple more years.

These were what TKelly had installed his wife's CX, in his above post. At that time, they were made by Moto Spezial, now a days, it is Guzzi Laden. Very nice quality. I recall that a bit of the headlight mount rubber rings had to be shaved off for everything to go together nicely. That was not noticeable, and not detrimental to function. That may or may not be necessary on an 850 LM.

I fitted Tarozzi adjustable clip-ons to my LM2 and find them much better as I can both raise and alter the fore-aft angle. Also I like that they are longer so give more 'leverage' and a better (for me) riding position.


I think LM1 forks are a different diameter but I'm sure they make them for both.

Of course, being infinitely adjustable they can be set at a higher angle if required but the above suits me.

Looks like my riding can be extended and in a more comfortable fashion! Wondering if there will be a need for longer cables or wiring, but I guess I'll find out when I get into the weeds.

I changed the throttle at the same time so fitted new throttle cables anyway. I also changed the switchgear but, I think the originals would have been plenty long enough and the clutch cable was fine as was.


I would say that, if anything it would be the throttle cable(s) that might need lengthening?

Tarrozzi or Tomaselli clip on's are the way to go. I put on a set of Telefix clip on's. Highly adjustable but also very fiddly. They look period correct and are pretty trick.
