If you remove it, you can check it for pitting on the sealing face an also that all orifices are clean. You can clean the visible part if it with a brass brush on a dremel or similar to get rid of the remaining rust. If you then polish it, it will be reasonably resistant against new rust. Then again, a new one probably does not cost the world.

I’ll soak it overnight and take a closer look.
Definitely going to look into purchasing new ones 👍🏽

Yeah, even cheapskate me, changed all of them for new.

I’m pretty pleased with how my first brake caliper rebuild job went. The caliper cleaned up nicely, no extra parts in the end and everything fit back together as it should. I’ll know for sure when I get the whole brake system going. So far, so good.

When caliper pistons don't want to come out, I resort to the grease gun. It's never failed to work.

Quick update:
https://www.facebook.com/reel/1523709539403450/?fs=e&s=TIeQ9V&fs=e&mibextid=wwXIfr&fs=e

I took it as far as I could and decided that if I wanted to ride my V50 sometime within this decade, I outta just take her to Mark.

Started to feel sea sick watching that vid. for a minute! Got outta there, sharpish.
Was surprised I could even view it without logging in.
