Hello Folks, my 76 convert currently has 125 mains and 50 pilot jets. The slides and atomizers are what comes stock with the VHB 30s. The bike has never needed the enrichners ( choke) to start cold, and even though the temps have been in the low 40s F, if I use the "choke", the bike will not fire up at all. It will start right up with two initial twists of the throttle, and responds to the throttle well, even when cold. This leads me to believe it is jetted too rich, in the idle circuit, although, it idles well with the mixture screws 2 turns out.
The bike has K&N pods, and free flowing mufflers, and H pipe. I am at 4000 ft above sea level.
My question is should I start by installing smaller sized idle jets, say 45s or smaller, or would the fact that the screws are currently,at 2 turns out, mean I should not decrease the idle jet size?
This is the first carbed guzzi I have owned where the enricheners would prevent it from starting even when the weather is cold. Other bikes will start, and you can tell right away, the choke is not needed, as in "chuff", "chuff", and then you switch it off. This convert wont even fire with the enrichers on, even if you hold the throttle wide open. It has to have the throttle closed, and the "choke" off.
any advice/ suggestions much appreciated
