Daniel Wolfe

A Moto Guzzi enthusiast named Daniel Wolfe passed away recently. I was wondering if anyone on this forum knew him and might know what his user name was. I purchased six of his Moto Guzzis and would like to see if I could find out more about him and his motorcycles by searching for threads that include his user name.
Daniel lived near Huntsville, Texas.
After he passed away a neighbor purchased all of his motorcycles with the intention of keeping one of three Harley Davidsons he owned and selling the remaining Harleys and Moto Guzzis.
I bought the following from the neighbor:
1998 California EV - 86k miles and missing 1 front brake disc
2001 California EV - 23k miles - very nice
2003 California Stone - 11k miles - nice
2006 Breva 1100 - 30k miles - nice
1989 LeMans Mk5 - 11k miles - extremely nice. I planned to re-sell this one because from the pictures I did not care for the 1980s styling, but when I saw it in person I fell hard for it.
1970 Ambassador - nice unrestored condition.
I can post pictures eventually after I clean them up if anyone is interested.
I plan to keep the Ambassador, the LeMans, the 2001 EV, and am on the fence regarding the Breva (seems like a great bike but don't need it).
I'll be eventually selling the 2003 California Stone and 1998 California after I figure out the front wheel situation.
Thanks in advance for any info on Mr. Wolfe

I recall Dan attending several of the GRIT rallies up in Lindale, Texas.
I think some folks on the GRIT (Guzzi Riders in Texas) Facebook page will also know more about him and possibly his collection.
I thought, my memory might be off that Dan passed away 3-4 years ago?

Thank y'all for the very helpful comments and information! It makes sense that Daniel died some time ago as the bikes appear to have been sitting for a while. The guy that bought them all was having a mechanic clean the tanks, rebuild the carbs (where applicable), etc to get them running. Of the bikes I bought only the Breva and 2001 California run. The rest he had not gotten to yet. On the LeMans he had the carbs rebuilt and tank cleaned but had not yet put the carbs back on when I bought the lot.

Dan was a first rate friend and an all around fine fellow. We rode together quite a few miles. One of the EVs belonged to his close friend Bill (?) and has tubed wheels/tires ('98, I think). When I first met him in 2003 he was on a relatively new black Stone. He, like many of us was one who liked many different bikes. Think he put more miles on the Breva and stone than any of the others.
Most of all I miss him!!

Jcctx, thank you for the information and insights on Dan. The 98 is blue, and the Stone and 2003 are black, as is the Breva. I'm looking forward to getting all of the bikes rideable, and am very curious about the Breva, as it has such good reviews on YouTube
BTW the gentleman I bought the bikes from still has a red Breva 750 that is in excellent condition and has only 2700 miles. I would have bought it as well but was already risking divorce (most guys bring their wives flowers and chocolate for Valentine's and I bring home 6 old motorcycles), and my truck was full. If anyone is interested I can get his bottom line and contact info.

As the former Texas Rep for the MGNOC I knew Dan very well from the numerous events we attended. A hell of a nice man. I think he was only in his mid 60's when he passed unexpectedly. Glad you got his bikes.
Don't ask me about the Breva 1100 as it was the worst most unreliable Guzzi I had in Guzzi ownership since 1971 and over a million verafiable miles.

Here are a few pictures of the bikes. If anyone knows the background on any of them I'd love to learn what they know. The side covers for the Ambassador are off the bike as pictured but are in excellent condition. I don't think it's ever been restored. Really curious about that one. The V50ii was not from Dan, but was purchased from Corpus Christi without much background if anyone has any info about it. Thanks!
