« on: May 16, 2024, 11:10:29 PM »
If anyone has a lead for Honda parts from bikes in the 1980s, 1983 CB1000C in particular, please PM me with the information.
Thanks

Dan-O,

Try these guys:

https://www.hondaparts-direct.com/oempartfinder?aribrand=HOM&arian=motorcycle

If you try sites that don't list that year, give them a call.  It's actually pretty amazing how many of the big OEM parts sites still list parts for bikes from the 1980's.

I usually start by typing "Honda motorcycle OEM parts" into a search engine.  Usually you can find 3 or 4 of the big OEM parts sites.

good luck!

What parts are you looking for?  The brackets that hold the headlight.

You might also try putting the Honda part number into different search engines.

Sometime the internet is a surprising place!!!

My first thought was Partzilla but that info the SIR REAL ED posted seems a great recourse...

To steal the thread, I just purchased these '76 CB 550 F from the second owner.

Pretty excited to have another after many years.

The first thing t do was to change the ape hangers...

Nearly flawless paint...

Sorry for the hijack and thanks for the info on additional parts houses...

rad

I used to have an orange 550 and it was a real gem. Of course, the real rarity is a 500 Four. I have only ever seen one for sale. My current daily driver is a CB750. Still, it's hard to get excited about a Honda when you have a Moto Guzzi

Have you tried David Silver Spares in Pa.? I had luck emailing them. I got a NOS part no one else had. I think they are Honda's version of Harper's.

Plus 1 on David Silver…

My impression is they’re collecting (re-cycle-ing..?!?) everything they can get their hands on regarding 80’s honda after specializing on 400f replacement parts

Just did a search at Silver for cb1000, then the Custom model…long list of replacement parts but email them for parts…I’ve been getting emails from them showing huge swaths of used hondas being pulled into the facility for restoration or parts

Thanks Chuck and others for this lead and I’m on it👍

I just did the search engine on the site and entered the cb1000c and in red letters was advised “ nothing available”.??

Dan,

If you told everyone the part numbers of what you are looking for, it would be easier for us to help you!

just a thought!

The search is over, parts found at a used Honda parts outfit in Canada.
Someone at one of the places you guys recommended gave me a couple companies he deals with and the one in Canada had both brackets, in great condition.
I’m supposed to find out Tuesday what the shipping cost is. I can get the parts for 100.00, the shipping will probably be about that, hopefully not!
Thanks for the responses guys. 👍👍👍

Two steps on the search..

I used only CB1000 first…

Then the site asked for a model name from a pull down list…‘Custom’

This link might work..I’ll check

https://www.davidsilverspares.com/CB1000-CUSTOM-1983-(AMERICAN)/

Link works  :thumb:
