I have two 98EV.  What's up?  Post the question here as there are surely other experienced users.

I recently reinstalled the engine/transmission in my EV and I can`t figure out which wires plug into which . On the right side of the engine just behind the cylinder there is a sensor .  On the upper frame there is a black socket zip tied to the frame and there is also a wire with a light green socket. Which does the sensor plug into? Thanks for your help!

That is not a 98 then. The sensor in the right cylinder is the 15M ECU model. The 98 had the temperature sensor in the left valve cover. The sensor connector should be hanging right nearby. If there is a sensor in the left valve cover AND the sensor in the right cylinder, maybe someone did a motor swap.

Maybe OP is talking about the flywheel pick up. It is behind but lower by rubber plug in trans.

That should be a square black plug w/clip, same as the one on timing chest on L/H side. Same kind of plug. I would clean the one for flywheel, it gets shavings from clutch metal parts.

Thank you ,Guzzisteve . So then the wire from the timing chest would plug into the light green connector.

I would check the wire colors with the ones in that injection manual I posted, I can not recall any green plug except the injector connectors are green I think(IF I remember correctly)
You really need to check wire colors---------as in a schematic----there's one in that manual & it show's the sensors & plugs .

The schematics that I looked at don`t show colors hence the OP.

After 530 views and 16 replies I still haven`t an answer to my wiring dilemma . Could someone please help me out so I can get ole Hot Dog & Mustard back on the road after almost 3 years. If you have a `98 EV please go out in your garage ,loosen the back of the tank, lift it about 3 or 4 inches and look at the wiring on the right side. You should see 2 wires with connectors , one going to the flywheel sensor behind the right cylinder the other going to the timing chest on the left front of the engine. One of the connectors should have an off white plug . What does that connect to? Thank you for your time, I really appreciate it.

Your 98 EV wiring diagram should be listed on thisoldtractor.

If you read wiring diagram & colors of wires all your answers are there.
Even the FI manual has correct wiring & colors, what I used in 97 & 98 when bikes were new.

Could only lift my tank a couple inches. However on my 98EV the right hand sensor behind the cylinder is connected to the white plug.
It ain't what they call you, it's what you answer to.
