1 MG auto and 1 Honda auto
« on: May 19, 2024, 06:59:42 AM »
I guess the word gets out that I had a few converts over the years and folks just seem to find me, I brought these 2 home yesterday 😅 the first is a 78 hondamatic 750 that I had to get with the 85 MG cal11 convert, the guy said he road the guzzi last year when it dropped a cylinder and he thought it was the coil, he put a dyna ignition in it but didn't put the dyna coils in it which I have both new ones, it came with bags and a new looking harpers fairing, the seat needs help, the hondamatic has sat for a while but looks like it will run to, both have around 25 thousand on em, they both need a little TLC. Now to figure out what I'm going to do with them 🤔

I owned a CM 450A Honda . Never heard of any issues with the auto except they all ran at a high temp due to the torque converter (shared the engine oil). Did not seem to hurt anything as many went to very high mileage?? Hope both work out for you!!

The 85 Cal II automatic is one of the best "Converts", with its extra long wheelbase, and cool running square head engine. They are worth putting some time and effort, sorting, as they are a hoot to ride!

I shouldn't even ask - how many miles on the Convert?

Thanks folks, the bike has 25600 miles on it and seems to be in real good condition minus the seat and maybe the side covers, the guy hasn't found those yet, seems like he had a hack on it, it was wired for it.  I just picked up 2 400 triumphs for me and the wife.

I'm curious. When you unloaded the last Convert I seem to remember you saying you picked up two TW200s for you and DW. Now two 400 Triumphs? You really know how to treat a good wife.
