Clip on handlebar kit Verlicchi
« on: August 16, 2024, 11:27:36 AM »
Does anyone have these fitted, Clip on handlebar kit Verlicchi Tourer 35 / 115mm (known as swan necks I believe), particularly to a Le Mans 2?
Considering their price I need to know they'll fit before buying.

You might try to connect with TKelly on here. I put a set of MotoSpezial (Verlicchi) Touring on his wife's CX100 years ago. From almost 30 years back, I know that I had to "shorten" the rubbers between the existing clipons and the triples so that the Verlicchis would fit in their place. Also having to pay attention to the location of the brake switch on the master cylinder, with regard to contacting the dash. It was all simple, as I recall Tom's wife was very pleased with the result.

Another option are the Tommaselli clip ons though they don’t have the height adjustment like the Verlicchi clip ons, but they are about $100 bucks less.

And I had these on the bike when it was stock though the updated MC came later.

I have to apologize, but I was assuming that the LeMans II was going to be more like a CX100. None of those in the US for the most part, so I've not really played with one. That being said, your photo looks 850 LeMans, not LeMans II. LM I fairing, (not LeMans II/CX big fairing with lowers), dash, front turn signals, etc. And it looks like there is already something aftermarket on there for clip ons, they're certainly not stockers. The issue I saw on the CX was the beyond the previously noted headlight "ear" rubbers, was that the length of the front brake light switch, only capturing one brake line, had it's contact spades hitting the side of the big rubber CX100 dash. But I made it work easily. Being as it would seem you don't have that big dash, maybe you can get away with it as is. But I can't quite tell, are you capturing TWO front brake lines with one banjo bolt? That would add more length.

Being as I was swapping different parts out, I now maybe shouldn't say that my experience is valid. We're suddenly playing apples and oranges. You might quantify exactly what you have on there right now to start with, and than re visit. Maybe more pics.

The above bike is a CX, I just changed it because I got tired of patching up the fairing, etc  Yes, the brakes are de-linked so the lines are doubled up with a longer banjo bolt. The clip ons are Tommaselli and the top triple tree clamp is the stock CX part but I cut off the bosses for the SP handlebars and a few other things; used body filler to smooth out the rough parts and painted it with crinkle paint. Anyway, it’s a CX just modified as it was in bad shape when I bought the bike 25+years ago.
