NorgeGT gear pedal slop
«

My newly acquired NorgeGT has a lot of gear change slop. It appears that a lot of it is in the left frame cover/ footrest plate . I've seen a inside photo and there appears to be a bush in the plate. So is it a plate off get a bush turned up situation or is there another solution?
Cheers

Try greasing the guts out of it and take it for a ride, it will be an improvement but the real go is to turn up a bush and press it in.
Do make sure the shaft does not have too many imperfections or it will tear your bush to bits…!(Sounds painful..!)

Took the plate off for a wee look. There is no outer support bush as the splines are still inside. So to take the slop out a bit I've used a 15mm dia. piece of copper pipe. Then I'll pack it up with grease.
Cheers

What do you mean by “the splines are inside…” ?
Are they not on the shaft ?

The splines on the shaft are partially inside the footrest plate , I guess that's why the bush isn't full length.
Bit of a bodge I guess but better than nothing in there.
